My first taste of social media networking began in 1997 while in college with AOL Instant Messenger “Chat Rooms” - My professional experience on AOL Instant Messenger quickly turned into social media sales for me in 2000.
At the time I was in a third party hospitality hotel management company. My sales role was to connect with Meeting Planners who who were in need of booking annual meetings with hotels. I went to AOL Member Search and keyed in “Meeting Planners Online Now.” I messaged 10 meeting planners, three responded, and shortly thereafter, I booked the first “Online Annual Meeting Deal” in company history. It’s so crazy how “online chat rooms” turned into “online sales” for me.
For the past 18 years, I've learned how to monetize social media. In fact, in 2011, one single Tweet, by yours truly, created my other company #Foodiechats. With one Tweet,
I started a brand new business that spans worldwide, and we have worked with over 660+ brands worldwide. Our team has created sales strictly via social media.
Remember that first client that I booked from AOL Member Search? The client was Kalahari Resorts. Fast Forward 18 years, and we just wrapped up a campaign to promote the brand new expansion for the Kalahari Resorts Pocono Mountain location with our Influencer Campaigns.
